Mulyana | The Collective | Frédéric Bussière present “Symphilia”

“Symphilia” – The world’s 1st location-based XR Art experience, combining physical crochet sculptures with cutting-edge Mixed Reality content to create a truly unique immersive experience.

This project was a collaborative endeavor uniting renowned Indonesian crochet artist Mulyana, French-Portuguese visual artist Frédéric Bussière & The Collective.

This Mixed Reality piece, experienced through MR headsets & iPads, invites visitors to learn about the many Mutualistic Partnerships that exist on our coral Reefs. Although we took artistic license with the outlook of the piece, the stories themselves are all backed by science & based on the real partnerships that exist between species. (* see an example below)

We were thrilled to debut it at BLUTOPIA Digital Art Aquarium in HK back in November 2023 where it ran daily for 3 months to rave reviews from Audiences of all ages. It was especially heart-warming to see our special needs and elderly guests faces light up!
